Geologically, the continents largely correspond to areas of continental crust that are found on the continental plates. A continent is defined as a large unbroken land mass completely surrounded by water. The seven continents are North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. The island groups in the Pacific are often called Oceania, scientists consider them the remains of a continent.

Formed by a 1,800km long mountain chain, Antarctica Peninsula is Antarctica's most visited area, unlike the inaccessible interior. Most of the wildlife is found during summertime,  when the Peninsula is the right environment for breeding and moulting.

My 85th solo backpacking trip and the 7th continent that completed the Seven Continents of the World on my Bucket List. I did not research that much for this continent due also on limited time and laziness.

Antarctica is a land of extremes: it is the coldest and driest continent on Earth and has the highest average elevation. As the fifth largest continent in the world, Antarctica is also the most Southern, overlying the "South Pole". Scarcely touched by humans, the frozen land boasts breathtaking scenery, broken by only a handful of scientific bases and a "permanent" population of scientists numbering only a few thousand.

2019 final set of annual leave; ALMOST 24 HOURS FLIGHT ESCAPADE! (halos buong araw nasa ere). Longest non-stop flight I had was from Abu Dhabi to Los Angeles for 16.5 hours last July 2019.
