Poland 2-Days Trip last part; Warsaw City Walk

Poland 2-Days Trip 4th part; Sopot Morning Walk

I roam the city through self-guided walk accompanied by a downloaded map online starting from Warsaw Train Station which is around a kilometer away to the Old town. I passed-by the Palace of Culture and Science (tallest building in Poland and the eighth tallest building in the European Union), Royal Castle (former official residence of the Polish monarchs), Old Town and how locals and other tourists hassles on the streets. Photography and video taking is allowed.

Warsaw has been the capital of the country since 1596 (the medieval capital of Poland was the southern city of Krakow) and has grown to become Poland's largest city and the nation's urban and commercial center. Completely destroyed by the Nazis during World War II, the city managed to lift itself from the ashes.

Poland 2-Days Trip 3rd part; Krakow Old Town Walk

The only reason why I visited this place is because of the Krzywy Domek (Crooked House) which is considered as one of the bizarre buildings in the World.

I roam the town through self-guided walk accompanied by a downloaded map online starting from Sopot Train Station which is just 300 meters away to the Old town. I passed-by the Sopot Church, Crooked House, Wooden Pier and how locals and other tourists hassles on the streets. Photography and video taking is allowed.

Krzywy Domek (Crooked House) is awarded as the Strangest Building of the World. The Village of Joy portal published the list of the 50 strangest buildings of the world. The first place was awarded to unique, unusual, full of magic Krzywy Domek in Sopot with its fabulous architecture inspired by drawings by Jan Szancer. The Krzywy Domek defeated such world-wide buildings as the Torre Galatea Figueres in Spain, the public library in Kansas City in the USA or the famous Guggenheim museum in Bilbao.

Poland 2-Days Trip 2nd part; Wieliczka Salt Mine Morning Tour

I roam the city through self-guided walk accompanied by a downloaded map online starting from Krakow Train Station which is just 300 meters away to the Old town. I passed-by the Old Town's Main Square, St. Mary's Basilica (particularly famous for its wooden altarpiece carved by Veit Stoss), Wawel Castle (includes the Cathedral, the Tower, Davinci's Lady with an Ermine and Dragon's Den) and how locals and other tourists hassles on the streets. Photography and video taking is allowed.

Kraków is not only an historic and visual gem, it's Poland's second largest city and covers both banks of the Wisla (or Vistula) river. Kraków is one of the oldest cities in Poland, with evidence showing settlements there since 20,000BC. Legend has it that it was built on the cave of a dragon whom the mythical King Krak had slain.

Wieliczka Salt Mine, built in the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines still in operation. From its beginning and throughout its existence, the Royal mine was run by the Żupy krakowskie Salt Mines. The mine's attractions include dozens of statues and four chapels that have been carved out of the rock salt by the miners. The oldest sculptures are augmented by the new carvings by contemporary artists.
