After a day of somehow trekking the nerve wrecking and leg breaking but with jaw-dropping and fascinating view along the trail of yungu and yuping of Mt. Huangshan, we went to tunxi old street for a relaxing food trip. I used "We" because I met a group of ladies along the trail whom one of them was fortunately my flightmate on tonight's flight to Beijing. They asked me to join them and go to this place.

just ride a bus #6 and #12. No admission fee for this street as this is like the calle crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

It is situated in the center of Tunxi District, the location of Huangshan City Government. It is paved with maroon flagstones with a total length of 1,273 meters (about 1,392 yards), of which 895meters (about 979 yards) is the pedestrian commercial street. Shops standing on both sides are generally of two or three floors, which feature the local Anhui style of stone base, brick construction and tile roof. The layout of these buildings commonly takes on the appearance of shops in front while houses and workshops are to the rear. Once a professor from America was amazed by it and he said he had found an Oriental Ancient Rome. Nowadays it is also used as a natural studio for films and TV series.

For biological protection, peaks in Yellow Mountain (Mt. Huangshan) may be closed down from time to time especially on winter season due to heavy fog, slippery trail and extreme cold above so always refer to the latest news bulletins. Please make sure your gloves are thick enough to keep your hands warm.

In addition, if having health problems in dealing steep siairwar trails with countless steps, PLEASE THINK TWICE before challenging yourself to reach the peak.

Huangshan (literally "Yellow Mountain"), is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. The range is composed of material that was uplifted from an ancient sea during the Mesozoic era, 100 million years ago. The area is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly shaped granite peaks, Huangshan Pine trees, and views of the clouds from above. Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China's major tourist destinations.

As per my researched, taking a bus has much shorter travel time than train so I decided to inquire also on long bus terminal which is located just beside the train terminal. It took me some time to know the bus schedule because it was very hard to find local english speakers even the counters who sell the tickets. Since winter is off peak season there was only one bus sked of around 1400H departure and will arrived in Huangshan at midnight. Afte knowing this, I went to shanghai train ticket booth located 300 meters outside from the train station. they told me there is only 1 train departure for the day which was 2124H and I purchased the hard sleeper which is composed of 6 passengers per compartment.

My 15th country to visit, 21st solo backpacking trip, 3rd visa application for tourism on entire single page, 2nd winter snow travel, 2nd birthday getaway and of course, usual budget do-it-yourself itinerary from arrival to departure.

After four (4) attempts of planning for winter backpacking, finally I made it this January 2013. The first plan was on a flight date last Jan. 24 - Feb. 01, 2012 via Beijing-Shanghai-Guangzhou for a birthday trip. Due to change of workplace, I moved this plan to December 06-12, 2012 via Shanghai-Beijing but again not pursued due to unapproved vacation leave. I moved again this plan to Dec. 24 - Jan. 02, 2013 via Shanghai-Beijing-Xi amen but still, for the 3rd time, this trip did not worked-out due to heavy workload at office, how sad holiday celebration.
